An Oncosurgeon is a specialist who performs surgical procedures to diagnose, remove, and treat cancerous tumors and cancer-related conditions.
You should consult an Oncosurgeon if you have been diagnosed with cancer, have a suspicious lump or tumor, or require surgical evaluation as part of cancer treatment.
Oncosurgeons treat various cancers, including breast cancer, oral cancer, thyroid cancer, gastrointestinal cancers, skin cancers, soft tissue tumors, and other solid tumors.
Symptoms may include unexplained lumps, abnormal bleeding, persistent pain, unexplained weight loss, non-healing ulcers, changes in bowel habits, or unusual growths.
No. Cancer treatment depends on the type and stage of cancer. Some patients may require surgery, while others may benefit from chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, or a combination of treatments.
A biopsy is a procedure in which a small sample of tissue is removed and examined to determine whether cancer cells are present.
In many cases, surgery can successfully remove cancerous tissue, especially when the cancer is detected early and has not spread.
Common investigations include biopsy, CT scan, MRI, PET scan, ultrasound, blood tests, and other diagnostic procedures depending on the cancer type.
Minimally invasive cancer surgery uses advanced techniques such as laparoscopy or robotic surgery through small incisions, often resulting in faster recovery and less discomfort.
Recovery time depends on the type of cancer, the complexity of the surgery, and the patient's overall health condition.
